THE
PRIVILEGE AND THE PRICE:
The
impact of workload on the health and well-being
of principals and assistant principals
in Victorian Government schools - 2003
This
was a comprehensive study consisting of
an international literature review, analysis
of WorkCover data, and a large program
of focus-group and survey research among
principals and assistant principals from
Government schools across Victoria. It
showed that while principals and assistant
principals considered it a privilege to
be entrusted with the development of young
people, their work exacted a considerable
price in health and well-being.
